SIA “MOTTRA” was established in 2002, as a joint venture of Russia and Latvia. It uses a closed recirculation system of its own design, which makes the fish farming and processing process organic, sustainable and environmentally friendly.
The technology being used was designed in the early 1990s in Astrakhan, capital of Russian caviar production. It has been evolving since then to keep up to date using a new methodology. Numerous patents allow SIA “MOTTRA” to have the most sophisticated closed recalculation systems.
The team is made up of professionals with 40 years of experience in fish production. Leading biologists finished the Soviet institute in Astrakhan with a specialization in sturgeon fish farming.
In 2007, SIA “MOTTRA” had received its first caviar and thus laid the foundations for
